Analog TV broadcasts are turned off with a target of 2 November 2022 for all regions in Indonesia.The first transition was carried out on October 5, 2022, for the Greater Jakarta area.The next question is how far is the development of distribution of free digital TV set top boxes for poor households?What percentage of the distribution of the set top box has been?Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information, Rosarita Niken Widiastuti conveyed the latest information on this matter."The implementation of setup box distribution assistance for poor households of 479,307 units has so far been carried out 63.4%," said Niken at a press conference at the Office of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Friday (23/9/2022)."The implementation of the distribution of set top boxes, both carried out by multiplexing operators and funded by the state budget, is currently going according to plan and we continue to monitor it on a daily basis to be completed before October 5, 2022," he continued.The Kominfo party also hopes for the support of the community and related stakeholders to accelerate the transition from analog TV broadcasts to digital TV broadcasts.He also appealed to Broadcasting Institutions to increase the intensity of socialization about the benefits of digital TV broadcasting."For all Jabodetabek residents who use analog TV broadcasts every day, and have had the opportunity to migrate to digital television broadcasting, so that they immediately switch without waiting until October 5, 2022 when analog TV broadcasts can no longer be watched," he said.Not to forget, Kominfo encourages multiplexing operators who distribute setup box assistance in Jabodetabek to immediately complete distribution in accordance with existing regulations.It is also hoped that multiplexing providers can optimize the quality of digital broadcast signals during the transition to Analog Switch Off (ASO) on October 5, 2022.
