the existing DVB-T will replace DVB-T2 / HEVC.In the first half of 2022, a new standard for broadcasting programs will be introduced in Poland - as in other European Union countries: DVB-T2 / HEVC.It will be launched from March to June in four stages, covering several provinces each."For some households, the change of the standard will require the replacement of the receiver with a newer model adapted to the change of standard or retrofitting the currently used receiver with a digital terrestrial TV decoder. the DVB-T2 / HEVC standard is to mitigate the social impact of changing the broadcasting standard by ensuring that all households can receive uninterrupted terrestrial television "- it was written."Every household that needs support in adapting to the change of the standard will receive it - a family member or household member. After submitting the application - the eligible person will receive a document confirming the grant of the benefit for the purchase of a set-top box.She will be able to implement it in one of the RTV stores that apply to participate in the program. The benefit will be available until the end of 2022.- Consultations on the bill will begin soon.We are counting on efficient work - so that the first funds can reach the needy households with the start of the first stage of the implementation of the standard change - stressed Cieszyński, quoted in the release.According to the provisions of the act, one person will be entitled to a benefit for the purchase of a set-top box within the household. The co-financing will cover the purchase of a set-top box compliant with the provisions of the regulation on technical and operational requirements for digital receivers, i.e. one that allows correct reception of the TV signal in the new standard. The new system is to provide new opportunities and benefits for consumers.Viewers will enjoy higher picture and sound quality and a wider choice of channels. However, this means that continued use of terrestrial television may require the adaptation of the television or replacement with a new one, as the receiver will have to have the appropriate functions. Most of the TV sets produced in recent years are dual-system, i.e. equipped with the ability to receive the current DVB-T system and the new one - DVB-T2.A TV that complies with DVB-T2 standards may need to change settings.According to the data of the National Media Institute, as many as 2.27 million households have to replace their TV sets or buy a new set-top box.If the TV set does not meet the requirements of DVB-T2, it will be necessary to purchase a special set-top-box, the so-calledtuner compatible with introduced standards. When buying new equipment, it is worth asking the seller if the TV:- receives terrestrial television in the DVB-T2 standard;- receives picture coding in the HEVC standard (H.265 / MPEG-H);- receives audio encoding in MPEG-2 Audio Layer 2 and Dolby E-AC-3 standards. Moreover, if the receiver enables connection to the Internet, it should support the HbbTV standard version at least 2.0.1.In order to be able to watch TV in ultra high definition 4K, the equipment should also meet the requirements of:- HEVC HDR reception in HLG10 and PQ10 versions;- Dolby AC-4 sound reception.Digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) was launched in Poland in 2013.It was then that digital terrestrial broadcasting began.Through it, over 30 programs, such as TVN and TVN7, reach viewers in Poland. They are broadcast from terrestrial broadcasting stations located all over the country.Next year, however, will be the end of the DVB-T standard.DVB-T will be replaced by DVB-T2 / HEVC, the second generation digital terrestrial television.HEVC is a standard that enables better quality television reception. Please note that the DVB-T2 / HEVC standard will not be introduced in satellite and cable TV.The changes only apply to digital terrestrial television. This major change will affect millions of terrestrial TV audiences. The operation of switching the transmitters to the new standard has been divided into four stages, each of them will cover several provinces. The changes will begin at the end of March 2022 and end in June 2022.Planned dates of changes in individual regions:- March 28, 2022: Lubuskie, Dolnośląskie, Opolskie voivodships,- April 25, 2022: Zachodniopomorskie, Pomorskie, Wielkopolskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodships,- May 23, 2022: Łódzkie, Świętokrzyskie, Śląskie, Małopolskie, Podkarpackie voivodeships,- June 27, 2022: Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, Lubelskie voivodships. The prime minister's office previously indicated in a press release that in the coming months, the growing interest in DVB-T2 devices may also be used by dishonest sellers."You should be particularly careful about TV sets and set-top boxes at suspiciously low prices. Taking advantage of an exceptionally attractive opportunity, in a few months we may be deprived of access to our favorite channels" - the Chancellery of the Prime Minister alarmed.According to experts, the best way to avoid a purchase mistake is to carefully check the parameters of the equipment offered. When buying a TV set or set-top box, it is good not only to rely on the description provided by the seller, but also to look at the manufacturer's available information.Main photo source: ShutterstockThe Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) called on Getin Noble Bank to present a new bank recovery plan within four months. The Polish Financial Supervision Authority also decided to appoint a curator at the bank, who was the Bank Guarantee Fund, according to the press release.Getin wants to submit a new recovery plan that will reflect the bank's current financial situation and the new macroeconomic context. The Moscow District Court ruled that Google repeatedly neglected to remove prohibited content and ordered the company to pay an administrative fine of approximately 7.2 billion rubles (approximately $ 98.4 million).A $ 27 million fine has also been imposed on Facebook's parent company, Meta, for not removing content banned by local law as Russia tries to increase pressure on tech giants. On Friday, at the border crossings with Belarus, waiting for entry to Poland lasted for many hours. The estimated waiting time at the goods border crossing in Koroszczyn (Lubelskie Province) is 42 hours, and at the border crossing in Bobrowniki (Podlaskie Province), truck drivers have been standing even 68 hours.European passengers are entitled to compensation not only in the event of a flight delay, but also when the date or time of departure is postponed to an earlier date, ruled the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on Tuesday.According to the Court, a flight should also be considered canceled if the operating air carrier brings the departure date forward by more than one hour.Poland is among the ten largest exporters of classic toys in the world. In this respect, our country was ninth in the world and fourth in the European Union. In 2020, toys worth EUR 807.8 million were shipped from Poland.I strongly believe in the ETS emissions trading system, because it allows us to switch to renewable energy sources (RES) and generates quite large income streams for the budgets of the Member States, says Frans Timmermans, deputy head of the European Commission, to Rzeczpospolita. In 2022, the tariff of the largest gas seller in our country for individual customers -
