South Williamsport’s Kayvan Shams scored with just 4 minutes, 16 seconds remaining to tie the game as both South Williamsport and Montoursville’s boys soccer team battled to a 1-1 double overtime draw on Saturday afternoon.

Mason Morrow had six saves for the Warriors and Aaron Akers recorded seven for South.

Wyatt Fry scored halfway through the first half for the Warriors with an assist by Mathias Albert.

Williamsport’s boys soccer team fell to Altoona on the road, 3-1. Calder Diakte,a junior, assisted sophomore Evan Brittain in the first half. The Millionaires are now 6-3 and head to Danville for a tough contest against the Ironmen on Wednesday.

Jack Poirier scored twice as Wellsboro defeated Galeton, 3-1. The Green Hornets limited Galeton to just two shots on goal. Zachary Pagano scored for Galeton for an early 1-0 lead before Wellsboro scored three unanswered.

• McKaye Wilton scored twice as Maddy Breen and Aleigha Rieppel added assists in South Williamsport’s 2-0 win over Muncy in a Mid-Penn contest in girls soccer.

The loss drops Muny to 4-3, 4-2 in the league as South improves to 7-3. Addi Gresh recorded 15 saves for the Indians to keep Muncy in the game.

Leah Kaufman, Lydia Earnest, Nyla Kutney and Shyanne Klemick all scored as Montoursville defeated Mount Carmel, 4-1. The Warriors took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Hughesville cruised past Towanda, 8-0, to improve to 9-2. Sadie Ammar-Khodja, Alli Anstadt and Ally Taggart each scored twice for the Spartans, which limited Towanda to just two shots on goal.

Williamsport fell on the road at Altoona, 10-1. The Millionaires’ lone goal came from Elizabeth Shultz and an assist by Jaleynn Helmrich. Williamsport’s Chloe Pennings had eight saves and Sarah Spring had four.

Emma Strickland, Kira Cominskie and Adara Whitehead all scored as Loyalsock defeated Wellsboro, 3-1. The Green Hornets’ goal came from Jordyn Abernathy off a direct kick.

• Sarah Buck, Kylie Kilgore and Annaka Bruder all won in straight sets at Nos. 1-3 singles, respectively, 6-0, 6-0, to give Hughesville a 5-0 win in girls tennis over St. John Neumann.

Buck beat Lizzie Weller, Kilgore beat Emma Gallew and Bruder defeated Shaniyah Tutler.

North Penn-Liberty lost to Towanda, 3-2. Marissa Griess won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and Ella Weiskopff and Annabelle Johns picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles over Polina Goncharova and Maddie Blanchard.

• Loyalsock’s girls volleyball team fell to Troy, 3-1 (23-25, 25-10, 25-12, 25-22). Jadea Toth had seven assists, three digs and two aces, Gabby Beabrun had six digs and three kills, Emma Belcher had a team-high eight kills, three digs and two acces and Molly Garrison had two kills and two aces.

Italia Taylor had six aces, three digs and two kills, Lucy Tripp had two digs and Katie Hughes had five digs, four assists, two aces and a kill.

• Muncy defeated Warrior Run, 4-1, in girls field hockey. Warrior Run went ahead early when Nora Styer scored in the second period. Muncy’s Kaylyn Nierzwicki countered with a goal, assisted by Lillian Chronister, to tie it at 1-1.

Lacy Eckard, Abielle Niedermyer and Nierzwicki all added goals to give Muncy the win. Nierzwicki and Niedermyer added assists in the victory for the Indians.

• Freshman goalkeeper Isabella Bobe led the Lycoming College field hockey team as it fell, 4-0, in MAC Freedom action to King’s College.

Bobe made eight saves for the Warriors (2-6 overall, 0-2 MAC Freedom). Freshman Kelly Preston recorded a pair of defensive saves.

Emma Clark led the Monarchs with two goals. Hannah Robbins and Sarah Zaleppa also scored. Monarchs’ goalkeeper Ellie Glatz made two saves.

Junior Kalin Duke dished out three assists, junior Saramae Radel scored twice, and sophomore August Lewis pitched a shutout to lead the Mansfield University field hockey team to a 5-0 non-conference victory at Maryville University.

The Mountaineers have outscored their opponents, 10-0, over the last two games.

Duke’s three assists fall just on shy of a tie for third in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference history record book.

• Junior midfielder Pius Atubire scored the first two goals of his career to lead the Lycoming College men’s soccer team, helping head coach Nate Gibboney set the program’s all-time wins mark.

Since coming to Lycoming in 2013, Gibboney has posted a 111-42-22 record, passing Scott Kennell (2000-10) for the all-time wins record. Among those 111 wins, were three conference titles wins, six conference semifinal wins, four NCAA tournament wins, and one win in the NCAA Second Round.

Freshman Keller Chamovitz opened the scoring for the Warriors (4-1-4 overall) just three minutes into play off a free kick from out above the left corner of the goal box.

Penn College blanked Gallaudet, 3-0. Tommy DeGeyter, Clayton Gothel and Dylan Dailey all scored for the Wildcats, who led 2-0 at halftime. DeGeyter also added an assist for the Wildcats.

Penn College out-shot Gallaudet, 6-3.

Freshman Cade McGrath scored his first career goal for Bucknell, but American equalized just before halftime and went ahead in the 74th minute on the way to a 2-1 win over the Bison.

The Eagles, who won the Patriot League title two seasons ago and played in the championship game last year, improved to 3-3-1 overall and 1-1 in Patriot League play, while the Bison fell to 1-7, 0-2.

The Bison took an early lead just over 14 minutes in after a throw-in near midfield came to Waldemar Kattrup. He touched a pass to Mo Tall, whose long direct ball found McGrath breaking behind the American back line.

• The Lycoming College women’s soccer team fell to Widener University, 2-0. Senior Bella Green, a South Williamsport graduate, had five shots and freshman Abigail Umhoefer added three for the Warriors (5-2-2 overall).

Emily Schall and Madison Blackshire led the Pride scored for the Pride, with Schall scoring the game-winner in the 38th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Abbey Gerasmioff made two saves in 77 minutes and freshman Riley Block made one. Samantha Coon made seven saves for the Pride (3-3-2 overall), who were outshot, 12-10.

Penn College cruised past Gallaudet, 10-0, scoring six goals in the first half. Wiley Egan and Kaelynn Sheetz each recorded a hat trick for Penn College, which is now 2-5-1 overall.

In one of its most complete performances of the season, the Bucknell women’s soccer team scored three goals in the first 37 minutes of the match and went on to defeat Colgate 3-0.

Abby Gearhart opened the scoring in the 14th minute, and reserves Henna Andican and Reese Evans added goals during a dominant first half for the Bison.

Bucknell won its second straight Patriot League game to improve to 2-1 in the conference, and the Bison are now back over .500 on the season at 5-4-1. Bucknell extended its home unbeaten streak to nine (8-0-1) dating back to last season and posted its largest margin of victory in 36 all-time meetings with Colgate.

The Lock Haven women’s soccer team dropped a road contest with Shepherd, 2-1, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division action.

The Golden Rams started fast and notched two goals in four minutes capped with a goal at the 12-minute mark to jump out to an early lead.

Sydney Bolles grabbed a goal back for LHU in the 65th minute to cut the Shepherd advantage to 2-1.

• The Lock Haven University volleyball team faced Millersville University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division action, and the Marauders picked up their first conference win of the season, 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-10).

The first set of the afternoon saw a high offensive output as both teams each collected 13 kills, including Evie Jane Rembold, a Central Mountain graduate, who tallied five herself. Millersville took control late and started off the day in the lead, winning set one 25-16.

Marauders doubled their lead, winning the second set 25-19, looking to close out the afternoon. The home team capitalized on their momentum to grab the final set 25-10, securing their first conference win of the year.

Defensively, freshman McKenzie Hanna, a Central Mountain graduate, notched a team-high 10 digs for LHU.

• Two Lycoming College women’s cross country runners posted career-best times and two men’s runners also notched season-bests to lead the teams at the Lock Haven University Invitational.

Sophomore Katryn Yocum placed 159th in a field of 291 runners to lead the women’s team, as she was just two seconds off her personal-best time, finishing in 24:36.90.

Junior Allison Clemens posted a time of 27:21.50, just edging out senior Claire Shaffer, who finished in 27:21.80 to take 245th. Junior Madisyn Neal, a Canton graduate, posted a personal-best 28:18.60 to take 254th, as she broke the 30-minute barrier for the first time, sophomore Madeline O’Connorfinished 272nd in 32:38.50 and senior Mariah Rovenolt, a Warrior Run graduate, took 277th in a career-best 36:04.40.

Freshman Kenny Draper, a Hughesville graduate, notched the 11th-fastest time in program history to pace the men’s team, finishing 211th in a field of 290 runners, posting a 28:37.60, as the men’s team finished in 34th place.

Mitchell Campbell, in just his fourth collegiate race, took first place individually and led the Penn College men’s cross-country team to a sixth-place finish at the Penn State Abington Invitational. Skyelar Splain finished 36th to lead the Wildcat women to a seventh-place team finish.

Campbell, a freshman, paced a field of 119 runners over an 8K course in 28:02.26, while Alec Rees was 34th in 32:03.32, Dillon Betts was 43rd in 32:43.27, Spencer Doughty was 45th in 32:44.79, Nick Snow was 49th in 32:54.84 and Noah Bowers was 59th in 33:54.29.

Splain ran a 6K course in 33:13.32 and was followed by Madison Shaffer who was 37th in 33:14.43; Rosey Thomas, 52nd in 36:37.39; Emily Witherow, 67th in 42:47.23; Isabella Telford, 69th in 43:06.80; and Amanda Confer, 75th in 57:00.45.

The regionally-ranked Lock Haven men’s cross country team turned in a solid team as the Bald Eagles hosted the LHU Invitational.

Vincent Fennell led the way for Lock Haven pack and clocked in at 26:46.9 in 84th out of 290 runners. The trio of Mason Ochs, Morgan Gavitt (Hughesville graduate) and Gavin Furey (Williamsport graduate) all landed in the top-100 and underneath the 27-minute mark. The Bald Eagles notched 12th place out of 34 teams.

On the women’s side, Lock Haven’s lead pack featured six runners who all finished within a sixth of a second. Megan Mudger led the way with a 24:00.2, followed by Krista Jones at 24:00.4, and Gwen Lloyd, who finished in 24:00.5. Billie Jo Bollinger and Elaina Klinger were both clocked at 24:00.7 and Aubrey Sechrist (Jersey Shore graduate) rounded out the tight grouping with a 24:00.8. The Bald Eagles would place 19th out of 34 teams in the event.

In the final race of the day, the white 6K race, Lauren Mehler paced the Lock Haven finishers and placed 40th of 117 with a time of 25:53.5.

• Senior Jason Anderson reached the semifinals at No. 3 singles to lead the Lycoming College men’s tennis team at the King’s College Invitational.

Anderson opened the tournament with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Luke Paulson of Elizabethtown in the quarterfinals before he was beaten by Ronald Duval in the semifinals.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Oct. 4, when they host Moravian University at 4 p.m. at Brandon Park.
