Sky aware Sky Q recordings are not grouping or stacking together

Sky Q serves the dual purpose of a TV set-top box and a hub for delivering content to up to two separate Sky Q Mini boxes. It allows users to record six channels and watch a seventh simultaneously.

However, all of it stands futile when the recordings are not presentable enough. It can get really confusing for users to access a particular series when not stacked properly.

That said, Sky Q is currently not performing the function of stacking and grouping the recordings efficiently.

Many Sky Q users (1, 2, 3, 4) are reporting an issue where their recordings are not stacking or grouping together in a series.

Why has my sky q box suddenly stopped stacking recordings, they now appear separate with no pic on planner Source

@SkyHelpTeam £50 a month and you can’t even group series links together. I’ve no idea what’s going on with @emmerdale one shows Series 51, the rest are ‘Other’ with a green screen Sky Q is so buggy! 🤬😡🤬😡🤬 #skyq Source

Usually, Sky Q automatically records a show and subsequent upcoming episodes of the same series. But the recordings are now all over the place.

Sometimes, a particular recording appears in more than one tile and also shows it as a completely different series. The recorded series also reflects under ‘other’ category rather than where it belongs.

When recording series sometimes the latest episode is showing under ‘other’ instead of with the previous episodes. Source

Fortunately, a Sky employee has acknowledged the issue and confirmed that it’s currently being investigated.

It should be noted that it’s not the first time Sky Q owners are facing issues. We’ve previously documented an issue where BBC stopped working on the Sky Q Mini and more recently the ITV2 HD channel not working.

Nevertheless, we hope that the issue where Sky Q recordings are not stacking gets fixed soon. We’ll keep tabs on further developments and update the article accordingly.
