The Slovak media market will soon be expanded by a new news station from the JOJ workshop. The JOJ TV group will launch its new station JOJ 24 in ten days. According to its own words, it has been working for a long time on its arrival and revealed at the beginning of this week what shows it will offer. This is already the third major news station.Until recently, the situation was diametrically different - for 21 years, only commercial TA3 operated on the market.Since the end of February, it has been supplemented by the news channel :24 from RTVS, to which more money is to be directed and which is also to receive a new studio. In recent days, JOJ stated that it has reached an agreement with the operators Canal+ (Skylink and freeSAT), Telekom, Digi Slovakia, Antik, Satro, Martico, DSi Data and others on the spread of the station. The broadcaster announced that JOJ 24 will be broadcast free of charge in terrestrial broadcasting - via a classic antenna. As a result, the new station immediately gains a significant advantage compared to the commercial TA3, which is only available in the paid version of Plustelka.Although the :24 channel is also distributed for free via the antenna, it will also have an advantage over it.JOJ TV confirmed to Živé.sk that JOJ 24 will be available for free - in HD quality. It will be included in the 1st multiplex in the DVB-T2 standard. The channel will be broadcast in the MPEG-4 codec. For viewing, a newer TV or set-top box with DVB-T2 support will be required. This also applies to multi-year models, as it will not be broadcast in the latest HEVC codec.Television will limit the amount of advertising until the end of this year.It will broadcast a maximum of two advertising blocks per hour - each with a maximum length of three minutes. This is good news for viewers, who will see less advertising than usual in the first few months. The new station is created under the leadership of the director of news and program Roland Kubina. Its editor-in-chief will be JOJ editor and moderator Dárius Haraksin.JOJ 24 announces that it will broadcast "objective news from verified sources".The station will also get a new news studio.News television, which until recently was the only news TV in our country, achieved revenues of almost 6.3 million euros last year, according to the website Finstat.sk.But she was at a significant loss.It was the sum of 1.85 million euros. It seems that the broadcaster wants to respond to the growing competition by launching a new station.Last month, it received a broadcasting license for the new channel TA3 Doku.It is not known exactly what it will offer and when it will start.Stay informed, we will send all important news to your e-mail.
