Enensys Technologies, a provider of media delivery solutions, has delivered a complete Canal+ International upgrade for its EasyTV service in Africa.The operation consists of migrating the existing DVB-T2 network in Africa from a standard DVB-T2/T2MI broadcast on C band to a OneBeam DVB-SIS broadcast on Ku band.This migration allows Canal+ International to generate significant savings in satellite OPEX capacity by merging DTT distribution with its existing DTH distribution.The first phase began with Guinea-Conakry before being extended to the big cities of several countries in Equatorial Africa (DRC, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon).The system was supplied by Aucom, the sub-Saharan systems integrator and commercial partner of Enensys, after extensive testing by teams from Canal+ International.Cédric Vialle, VP Broadcast & Set top box solution at Canal+ International, said: "We are delighted to use this OneBeam solution from Enensys which has allowed us to efficiently adapt our DTH distribution to DVB-T2 transport to our transmitters.
